If ever there was a city that captured all the beauty of New Mexico, it would be Silver City. At 6,000 feet, the summer monsoons enliven the lush landscape and provide an escape from the typical Southwestern heat. The bulk of Grant County and most of the towns in the county, including Silver City, fall into a high, arid region that resembles both parts of Arizona’s Chihuahuan Desert and New Mexico’s famously beautiful Ponderosa-clad mountains. At this elevation, Silver City is typically 10-15 degrees cooler than in Tucson. Thanks to this beautiful cooler climate, you’ll be able to spend more of your time outdoors enjoying all that New Mexico has to offer.
For those interested in a more active lifestyle; Silver City is close to several National and State Parks. Not far from Silver City are the world-famous Gila Cliff Dwellings, one of the few preserved cliff pueblos left from the 13th century. Just step outside your front door and you’ll have immediate access to not just one, but six breathtaking parks – each representing a unique part of New Mexico. Whether you are interested in hiking, mountain biking, fishing, or canoeing, you’ll have access to all of the above and more!
As for daily life; the city of Silver City is 71% safer than any city in New Mexico. It also helps that the school districts are rated amongst the best in all of Southwestern New Mexico – for a state this size, that’s no small feat!
Downtown Silver City is as bustling as it is colorful. The brightly colored buildings match perfectly with the New Mexican dawn and dusk.
The two closest major cities are El Paso, TX and Tucson, AZ. The benefit of having these two cities close are the major airports. If they had a major airport locally, there’d be no reason to ever leave! With over a dozen of the best restaurants around and an uncultivated New Mexican landscape to enjoy, what more could you really ask for?
If this sounds appealing and you believe you would make a great addition to our Silver City practice, please submit your application below and a member of our recruiting team will be in touch.
